Treating Mental Disorders With a Collaborative Approach

Hi! I am Sarah J. Polfliet, MD, a psychiatrist providing comprehensive adult psychotherapy and psychopharmacology services in the Bay Area. Over the years, I have gained extensive experience treating psychological and emotional difficulties with psychotherapy and/or medication. I also have a special interest and additional training in natural medicines and supplements, which I incorporate into my services.

Who Am I

I am a board-certified adult psychiatrist and Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology. I received my Bachelor of Science in Physiology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and my M.D. from the University of Virginia School of Medicine. I completed my residency in psychiatry and subspecialty fellowship training in forensic psychiatry at the University of California, San Francisco (UCSF), where I was awarded for clinical excellence and served as the chief resident of intensive services.

What I Offer

I have an adult psychiatry private practice for psychotherapy and psychopharmacology. I have extensive experience in the treatment of a wide variety of psychological and emotional difficulties with psychotherapy and/or medication. During my sessions with clients, I use a collaborative approach with them to guide treatment decisions, allowing me to discern what method is most likely to be effective.
